To Serve as a Godparent: To serve as a godparent is more than an honor- it is a sacred calling. A godparent supports the faith journey of a child by example, prayer and ongoing spiritual encouragement. Chosen not just for closeness, but for character and commitment to the Catholic faith, a godparent walks alongside the child and their family, helping to nurture a life rooted in Christ.
To Serve as a Confirmation Sponsor: To serve as a confirmation sponsor is a meaningful role in the life of a young Catholic. A sponsor stands as a witness to the faith, guiding the candidate through prayer, encouragement and example. Chosen for their active Catholic life, sponsors help the candidate grow in their relationship with Christ and take their place as a fully initiated member of the Church. It is a commitment of presence, prayer and ongoing spiritual support.

Requirements for a Godparent at Baptism or a Sponsor at Confirmation
Age: Must be at least 16 years old. Only one Catholic sponsor is required. If two for Baptism, it
must be one male & one female.
Sacraments:
Must be a fully initiated Roman Catholic who has received Baptism,
Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. If married, the marriage must be recognized
as valid by the Catholic Church.
Practice of the Faith: Must be a practicing Catholic who attends Mass on Sundays and
Holy Days of Obligation, receives Holy Communion regularly, and lives a life in
keeping with the Catholic faith.
Role: May not be the parent or step-parent of the person receiving the sacrament. Also, not bound by any canonical penalties.

Before a Letter of Good Standing/Sponsor Certificate can be issued from the Office of the Pastor, the requester must be an active, registered parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish for at least six (6) months. If over 21 years old, is registered as an adult.
An active parishioner is someone who:
- is currently registered at St. Catherine of Siena Parish
- attends Mass regularly
- participates in the life, mission, and support of the parish
Please note carefully:
If you are currently a registered and active parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish,
you may submit this request using the button below.
If you received your sacraments at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in the past, but now live elsewhere and belong to another parish, you must request your sponsor certificate from the parish where you now reside and are registered.
In other words, having received your sacraments at St. Catherine of Siena Church in the past does not by itself make you a current parishioner today.
Sponsor certificates are issued based on where you reside, your current parish membership, and active practice of the faith, not simply where you received your sacraments years ago.

Please allow ample time for the form to be reviewed before the sacrament is administered.
Last-minute requests may not be able to be processed in time.
